Prizes & Recognition

Every child receives a button for their first pledge, another for walking on the day of the event and, when they check in, an official walkathon t-shirt, designed by RHS students.

Students can also earn prizes based on the amount of money they collect.  Each student who raises $100 will receive a prize.   Students who reach higher goals ($200, $300, $400, etc) will receive the $100 prize and the prize at the higher level.

Prizes will be distributed on the day of the Awards Assembly in June.

Students who meet their grade level kilometer goal will receive a medal when they check out.

Recognition is also given to the top walkers and top fundraisers at the Awards Assembly.  For each grade, the girl and boy who walk the most kilometers and the boy and girl who raise the most money will receive a gold medal.  School-wide winners will have their names engraved on the walkathon plaque in the school lobby.

Finally, the classroom that raises the most and the classroom that has the highest participation rate will each receive a party of their choice (pizza or ice cream).
