History

The RHS Walkathon celebrates its 40th year.  Rain or shine, students, teachers, staff and families gather to walk thousands of kilometers on a course around the Redwood Heights neighborhood.

Over the years, the walkathon has grown into the second largest fundraiser for the school. It is by far the most popular event. Last year 300 students participated, raising over $60K!

School spirit is the key to this event’s success. Students contribute by finding sponsors and walking with friends to support their school. Relatives, neighbors and friends help out by making flat donations or per kilometer pledges. Parents and guardians volunteer before, during or after the event. Then the whole Redwood Heights community comes out to cheer them on! Everyone has fun and all money raised goes directly to support RHS, helping fund educational materials, art and music programs, field trips, library books and more.
